Your Contact Lenses Aren't the Correct Fit

People with astigmatism have an uneven curvature to their corneas that affects how contacts fit. Toric lenses are contacts for astigmatism that are specifically designed to fit the cornea's unusual curve. If you have new contacts, blurry vision might relate to how they fit.

Some of the disadvantages of toric lenses include: Because the lens has to be in your eye a certain way, it can cause some blurry vision as it realigns in your eye after moving.

As their name suggests, daily contacts are worn for a day, so you don't need to store or clean them with solution (because you're only going to throw them out at the end of the day). In contrast, monthly contacts are worn each day and removed and cleaned nightly for up to a month before being replaced.

Toric IOLs are better… for some people

The only difference is the type of refractive error that they correct. If your eyes have significant corneal astigmatism (50% of the population) then a toric IOL is the better option. If you don't have astigmatism then a non-toric IOL is the right lens for you.

The recommended wearing time for Clariti 1-Day is around 16 hours, but you should check with your doctor about your individual situation.

If a patient has 0.75D of cylinder, I often prescribe toric contact lenses to optimize the patient's vision. If a patient has 1.00D of cylinder, I generally prescribe a toric lens. On occasion, I will prescribe a 0.75DC toric contact lens for a patient who has 0.50DC of refractive astigmatism.

Your optician will be able to discuss with you what is best in your individual case, but as a general point, it's recommended that you wear your contact lenses for a maximum of 10-12 hours per day. Use Fresh Solution

Always use fresh contact solution to clean your contacts before you put them in. Never rinse your contacts with old solution (even from the night before), water or saliva. None of these adequately disinfect your contacts or remove the buildup of proteins and germs—and can contaminate your lenses.

As mentioned earlier, daily disposable lenses must be thrown out after each use, even if you've only worn them for a short period of time. This means you cannot let them soak in solution, regardless of duration.
